I can’t let Halloween pass by without sharing my favorite Halloween costume of all time. I put together this DIY Pillsbury Doughboy Halloween Costume for Colton’s first Halloween. Maybe I’m biased, but I think he’s the cutest little doughboy ever!
I have to apologize for the photo quality in this post. Two years ago, my only camera was an iPhone 5. But the subject is cute enough to make up for it, right?
How to Make a DIY Pillsbury Doughboy Halloween Costume
This DIY baby Halloween costume was super easy to put together. In fact, you probably have most of the items at your house already!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Onesie – White
- Leggings – White
- Socks – White
- Scrap of White Jersey Knit Fabric for Tie
- Chef’s Hat
- Pillsbury Logo [I printed on cardstock and hand-stitched to the chef’s hat]
- Mixing Bowl, Spoon, etc. for Props [if you’re looking for a good set of mixing bowls, these are the best!]
Buy Pillsbury Doughboy Halloween Costume Supplies
I linked some options from Amazon above, since I love having things delivered to my door. Colton thinks it’s fun to get packages, and I think it’s fun to not have to drag 2 kids around a store.
But, you can also find everything you need locally if you’re pressed for time! Target [aka my second home] has white bodysuits, white leggings, white socks, and chef costumes.
I actually found Colton’s chef hat at Dollar Tree! Dollar Tree also has mixing bowls and spoons if you want to grab some basic ones that you don’t mind getting banged up.
Mom hacks: if you don’t have any scrap fabric for the tie, try cutting up a old t-shirt. Also, if you can’t find a child size chef’s hat, add a couple stitches in the back of an adult one.
In case you were wondering, this is what happens when you try to have a 9-month-old pose with props.
Seeing my little doughboy makes me so nostalgic for his baby days. It’s hard to believe Colton is almost 3! I love working on his costumes each year. I’m excited to show you all what we have in store for his third Halloween!
