Yesterday, we had a Tutu Cute birthday party to celebrate our little Blair turning the big TWO! When I was looking for 2nd birthday party ideas, I was really drawn to the tutu cute theme because our little girl loves to dance. I also liked how the play on words [tutu/two-two], kind of like the Blair in ONEderland party I did for her last year.
Here are some photos + details from our Tutu Cute birthday party! Sources are linked at the bottom of this post.

We had Blair’s party at 10:00am so as not to interfere with her normal afternoon naptime. Therefore, we kept the food minimal–cake/cupcakes, cookies, and jello cups. We served pink lemonade to drink.
I made her ombre layer cake myself! Thanks to all of you who followed along with my Instagram Stories and cheered me on while I shared the process. I am so proud of how it turned out!
The cake didn’t use up a full box of mix, so I made several cupcakes with the remainder. I use this piping tip for frosting cupcakes and it makes them look so much more professional than icing them with a knife, with minimal effort.
The cupcake stand is actually from my bridal shower! We’ve been using this thing for 10+ years now.
Custom balloons are a great way to personalize your party theme, and they’re surprisingly affordable. I plan to display her personalized cake topper in her room because I love it so much! A good friend of mine with a Cricut machine made this one for us, but here’s a link to a very similar option.
Custom cookies are another great way to showcase a fun theme! I bought this white serving tray for under $10 a few years ago and it’s been a great investment. It comes out every time we host!
A fun invitation is a great way to set the stage for a fun party. And you can frame one to display at the party, too! Blair’s invitations are from Basic Invite, and I was really pleased with the quality. They offer almost unlimited color options [and some foil options, too!] with instant online previews, so I was able to find the perfect match. Plus, you can order a custom sample before you place your final order to be sure you’re happy with the design, paper, etc. In addition to invitations, they also offer holiday save the date cards, unique holiday cards, and holiday photo cards [can’t believe it’s almost time to think about those!]. And if you need a Basic Invite coupon code, I can hook you up: 15FF51 for 15% off!
Our letterboard is perfect to display at all of our parties. Just look up quotes that go with your theme and you’ve got instant decor!
The tutu table skirt was a labor of love. I think it really made the table pop, though! Definitely order more tulle than you think you’ll need for this project. You’d be surprised how much it really takes to do one of these.
Blair’s tutu is a great iloveplum tutu dupe. Her’s is from Amazon and so much cheaper! The quality is great, too. I’ll definitely be ordering more colors. [Here’s the original iloveplum tutus for comparison.]
Happy birthday, Blair Karmen! You are loved more than you’ll ever know.
