Continuing on with the recap of our Chicago holiday trip, I wanted to share one of our favorite Instagrammable restaurants in Chicago with you. Colton is still talking about our meal at Sugar Factory Chicago! After seeing our photos, I’m sure you’ll understand why.

One of our biggest challenges when traveling is finding family-friendly restaurants. Especially ones that us adults will enjoy as well.
For example, when Blair and I were in Tennessee, I literally took her to eat lunch at Chick-fil-A. I knew she’d eat the food and would enjoy the playplace, but I still felt a little guilty going on vacation and eating fast food chicken nuggets.
I knew from previous trips to Chicago that it’s a foodie city. So, I set out to find some Instagrammable restaurants in Chicago that are also family-friendly.
P.S., to the person who keeps making those Christmas pop-up bars, could you please invent a pop-up brunch place for families? Thanks.
When I found Sugar Factory online, I knew it would be a hit with my kids. And they have an extensive drink menu for adults, too!
By the way, look at Colton’s face in that photo above. That’s little boy heaven right there.
We had sliders as the appetizer. The kids had lemonade and grilled cheese, and my husband and I had club sandwiches.
Blair shared some of her lemonade with me. Then, we both ended up with a sore throat so sharing drinks probably wasn’t the best idea. But seriously, I get sick whenever my kids get sick no matter what… I’ve given up trying to fight it.
Here’s the main reason to go to Sugar Factory Chicago: The King Kong Sundae. This thing was massive and delicious. When we ordered it, the server even brought out a song list for us to choose from, then they played our selection while the dessert was presented. Complete with sparklers. It was truly impressive.
For the record, our song selection was Turn Down for What. Courtesy of Colton.
Here’s Blair devouring a full cupcake off the sundae. My favorite part was the cookies and cream ice cream, and Colton liked the marshmallows.
He also liked meeting Santa. Blair, on the other hand, was petrified. There’s a reason she doesn’t appear in any Santa photos this year.

What kid (or adult) wouldn’t love a place called the Sugar Factory?! These dishes look so much fun (a lot of food dyes, but still fun)! Thanks for sharing and linking up.
