My daughter Blair and I just returned from a weekend in Omaha, and I’m excited to share about our trip with you! We visited Omaha for Blair to compete at a dance convention, which was a bit of a full circle moment for me because I remember traveling to Omaha for gymnastics meets when I was a kid. I knew Blair would want to swim during some of her off time, so I was specifically looking for downtown Omaha hotels with pool — and when I came across the Cambria Hotel Omaha Downtown, I knew it would be perfect for us!

Cambria Hotel Omaha Downtown is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Omaha. It was a great spot to allow us access to the competition venue while still being close to everything downtown Omaha has to offer.
Above are a couple of photos of the view from our room to show the proximity to the the CHI Health Center and Schwab Field. Since it’s November, we drove and/or Ubered most of the time–but during warmer months, you could easily walk to either venue.
Our room at Cambria Hotel Omaha Downtown was nice and spacious, which was perfect for allowing Blair and I to both spread out over the weekend. When looking for downtown Omaha hotels with pool, I also wanted to make sure we would have a lot of space for everything we travel with.
In addition to the normal items we would pack for a weekend getaway, we always have so many extra things to bring for competition and convention weekends! My dance convention packing list grows every time.
Having a microwave and mini fridge in the room was very much appreciated. I always do a big grocery haul for snacks before these convention weekends, and it’s nice to be able to keep our drinks cold and have a place to heat up food. (These are a favorite to heat up in the hotel microwave because they’re quick and easily portable.)
Our beds were comfortable and, most importantly, clean. I was really impressed with the attention to detail for cleanliness at the Cambria Hotel Omaha Downtown, one of the best downtown Omaha hotels with pool.
Our bathroom had quite a bit of room, which was great. When we needed more towels during our stay, it was very easy to get them. Cambria had texted me upon arrival, so I was able to easily respond to the text chain anytime I needed something for our room. As a person who hates talking on the phone, having text access was a huge perk.
Like I mentioned, I was specifically looking at downtown Omaha hotels with pool when looking for a place to stay for this trip. Blair loves to swim, and I knew we’d have a fair amount of downtime between her classes and competition. Above are a couple photos showing the indoor pool at the Cambria Hotel Omaha Downtown. It was a very clean pool with ample seating, and we were the only people using the pool for the majority of the time we were there. Blair thought it was so fun to have the indoor pool in Omaha to herself!
We also checked out the fitness center at Cambria Hotel Downtown Omaha. It was quite spacious and had a great variety of machines. I only have an exercise bike at home, so I always enjoy using other types of equipment when traveling to change up my workout routine.
Above, you can see the lobby and restaurant/bar at the Cambria Hotel Omaha Downtown. There was plenty of space and seating throughout the lobby.
For Blair, the highlight of the lobby was this giant game of four-in-a-row. We played several times while waiting on our Ubers.
The lobby also has a little shop area where you can purchase food, drinks, and various travel necessities. The self-serve kisok was a great option for easy shopping.
Although the hotel was pretty busy due to not only the dance convention, but also a Creighton game and a Billie Eilish concert in town, there was always plenty of room in the lobby and other common areas.
Additionally, we received great service during our entire stay. From check in to check out, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful! We always felt welcomed and had positive interactions with all of the staff we spoke with.
Another spot Blair loved to sit was the couch in our room. I had bought her these little chips as a special treat, and she loved sitting on the couch, eating her chips and enjoying the downtown view. It’s a different vibe than our house in suburbia!
I saved my favorite photo from the trip for last. This was the view from our room of the sunrise on our last day in Omaha.
Overall, we had a great trip to Omaha. Blair did a spectacular job at her dance convention, placing for both her solo and group dance, plus earning a spot as a scholarship finalist. We look forward to returning to Omaha soon, and I highly recommend the Cambria Hotel Omaha Downtown to anyone looking for downtown Omaha hotels with pool or just a convenient spot to stay in downtown Omaha!
