There’s something about warmer weather that makes me start craving s’mores. This s’mores cookies recipe is just the thing to satisfy that craving! These cookies are soft, gooey, and oh so delicious. They’re my family’s favorite cookie, and I bet your family will love them too. And, the secret ingredient will have everyone asking you for the recipe!
This s’mores cookies recipe is your basic chocolate chip cookie with a twist. In addition to the chocolate chips, you’ll add mini marshmallows, graham crackers, and vanilla pudding mix to the batter.
Personally, I think it’s the pudding mix (the secret ingredient!) that helps make these cookies so soft. My husband likes to heat them up in the microwave for a few seconds, but I think they’re soft enough at room temperature. Not that I usually wait for them to cool down or anything.
One of the best parts of having a little one is having a built-in baking buddy. Colton loves to help me in the kitchen, especially when the KitchenAid is involved. It’s my favorite kitchen appliance, too. We got it as a wedding gift 8 years ago and it’s still going strong. Wait, how has it been 8 years?!? I’m getting old.
A cooling rack helps a lot with these cookies. To keep s’mores cookies soft, it’s important to transfer them off your baking sheet immediately after removing it from the oven. Then, take photos of the cookies to distract yourself from eating them. Or, you know, do something less weird.
The last time I wrote about s’mores, I got comments that some of you don’t have s’mores in your country or have never tried one! They look absolutely amazing…I will be my children’s favourite person in the world if I make those. Have you ever frozen the batter?
I’ve actually never tried freezing the batter. I’m always in too much of a hurry to eat them! 😉 I think it would be fine to do, though.
Yummm! Looks delish!
Hi! Stopping by from Mom Bloggers Club.

Thank you, Veronica! They’re very tasty! Hope you get a chance to try out the recipe soon.
I was just wanting some s’mores. I’ll have to take these camping!
That’s a great idea, Helene! Hope these satisfy your craving!
They sound lush! Definitely be trying these ou, although being in Wales I’m not too sure what pudding mix is…. #TwinklyTuesdays
Oh no, I didn’t realize pudding mix wasn’t universal! Oops. It’s just the dry powder in a box that you mix with milk to make pudding. Jell-O is usually the name brand, at least here in the States. There are also some DIY versions out there if you don’t have it at your store!
What a great idea to combine two awesome desserts into one even awesomer mash-up! And your kitchen helper is adorable 🙂 What would we do without our assistants?
Kitchen helpers are the best! I’m definitely lucky to have such a good one!
These look so yummy!
They are! Hope you get to try them soon!
I could eat the whole batch!!! SO YUMMY!! I would love to make some of these tonight!
P.S. Your photos are gorgeous!
Thank you so much, Jessica! I’ve been trying to work on my photography so that means a lot. And I hope you get a chance to try the recipe soon!
Okay, I’m totally having my husband stop at the store on his way home so I can make these.
Sounds like a plan! Hope you all enjoy them!
These look delicious! I love the idea of incorporating the flavour of smores into a cookie so you can get the taste without the campfire.
Exactly! I love the flavors of s’mores!
Tricia, I have got to make these!! For the last fews weeks,my husband and I have been trying to light a fire pit we just bought. The only thing is I keep getting nervous and postponing it. Anyway, we have kids who are begging to finally making the s’mores we’ve been promising. I think I’ll be making these cookies soon…
I would be nervous too, Jennifer! S’mores cookies sound like a great compromise. I can’t imagine the kids will complain about cookies! 😉

Thank you, Kristine! I think the pudding mix gives the cookies a great flavor!
Oh my goodness I need these in my life! Although my husband and son are allergic to chocolate so I can’t be trusted with these by myself… I will have to save this for my next picnic!
Oh man, I can’t imagine having a chocolate allergy. That has to be rough!
Oh heavens! Just the name of these makes me want to make them!
I know, right? You can’t go wrong with s’mores!
These look like every summer loving kids dream! I have been thinking about smore cookies lately.
S’mores are the perfect summer dessert! Although I’ll eat them in any season 😉
My husband would flip for these!!!!
You’ll have to keep these in mind for Father’s Day, then! I like to bake my husband cookies on Father’s Day and these are definitely some of his favorites!
Do I make the pudding mix as instructed on the box before adding into the recipe or just the dry mixture?
Hi Siobhain! You’ll add the pudding mix in dry. Don’t make it into pudding first. Thanks for the question, and I hope you enjoy your cookies!
